A bib, buttons, and buttons with a bib

Look what hubby’s grandmother brought me yesterday!

Yes, that’s a huge bag full of vintage buttons. I will empty them all in a huge box and run my fingers through them!

*ahem* – and use some for their intended purpose, of course.

On that subject, here’s a bib. It’s not just any bib, it’s more like a collar. To catch drool, you know. This particular one is made in Bernat Handicrafter cotton, which is hardly the softest thing around. Didn’t want to use my nice yarn to experiment. I’m very satisfied with the result, so there will be a lot more of these, in various sizes, I suppose. And softer yarn, of course.

Back (the buttons are from the big badass bag of buttony beauty)

I really like bluebells. And flowers. I see a daisy in the future!

Button-bag with bib. Look how proud it is!

For sale!

I’m selling one of my shawls, because it never did get to see much use (and my fibre habit needs support, aka. monies to buy more yarn/fibre/spindles)

It’s a big, heavy winter shawl, made for wearing outside in winter, as you can see from the picture. I was perfectly warm and cozy, despite being next to the river in the middle of winter.

Well, sort of. I didn’t have as much dye left as I thought, and my hair is a lot healthier than usual, so the purple is not as bright as I’d like. Oh well.

In other news, I’m knitting more tiny baby booties and mitts. I gave some of the ones already made to people in my prenatal group. Much squee-age ensued, most people here don’t knit.

I fear the baby blanket will not be finished until late October/November – it’s too warm to knit anything that large, I’d melt if I tried!

I got rid of some hair (ok, a lot)

…and it feels so incredibly light and relieving! I’m not made to have long hair, it gets way too warm for me.

So, now what? Do I dye it purple again, or do I keep it blond? I haven’t stayed blond for more than a week or two since I was 13. I like purple. But I’m also lazy.

(I know that in a week, at most, it will probably be purple again. It’s just like that)

I’m very satisfied with the cut, btw. It was worth every cent of the $21 it ended up costing :p

I have something you don’t have!

(at least if you don’t live way up north in Europe)

Thanks to a very kind Swedish RAKer, I now have a stash of salty liquorice.

No, I won’t share! It’s aaaall mine!

She makes us melt every single day with her cuteness :)

I like knitting tiny, cute baby things

Oh yes, I do. Like this dress I’m knitting right now. I don’t expect it to fit for long, but hoping that little Amélie Vanille (that’s the name we decided on) will at least be able to wear it once around giftmas/new year’s time. After that it will become doll clothing :)

Those two games you see in the background? Very highly recommended for anyone with a (slightly twisted) sense of humour. I didn’t even need to play them to be amused, I just cheated and let hubby play while I was knitting and watching the story unfold. I do that a lot. It’s hard to knit and play at the same time, but I don’t want to miss out on the stories, so I become the annoying know-it-all in the next chair over instead :p

I have posted it everywhere else, but…

if you somehow didn’t see it:

We’re having a girl! A very active, very squirmy girl :)

(who decided to kick her father in the face when he hugged my belly - he wanted to feel her move, and got his wish!)

I finally finished some things for baby! Booties, a hat and mitts. I have already started a second pair of mitts, because I decided that purple stripey mitts would be so much neater! Yeah. I never waffle around, nope.

The baby is moving a little bit every now and then, although right now I think it was just gas ;)

Of course there is a cat in the picture. It’s impossible to take a picture here with no cat in it, they will simply not accept that!
